Enjoy great soaring conditions with other BASA pilots out in the Panoche valley! This is the spring soaring/social event of the year and not to be missed.  This encampment is held each year over the Memorial Day weekend at a private airstrip in the Panoche valley and is graced by glorious spring soaring conditions along the San Benito Mountains.  The Palooza includes camping at Mercey Hot Springs and a Saturday post-flight BBQ at the landmark Panoche Inn.  Cross country flights of 300-500km are not unexpected and pilots have journeyed to Santa Barbara and back on multiple occasions over the course of recent years.  So mark your calendars and sign up early as campsites go fast and the gliders go even faster.

The BBQ will be $15 per person and camping will be $50 per person per night (includes free access to the hot tubs, swimming pool and showers).  Personal massage and yoga classes are extra. Tows will be $275 per tach-hour, including launches from Panoche, ferry tows, and aero-retrieves. When signing up for glider reservations, please coordinate offline to find a rear-seat passenger. The PIC should make the reservation and list any passenger in the comments field.

All participating pilots should complete the following.

3. Read A Guide to Flying Panoche.
4. Read Flying XC Between Hollister and Avenal.
5. Make arrangements with your club to relocate club gliders for the event.
