Records
Mad Dash
The Mad Dash started in 1997 and is an award for the furthest straight out glider flight from Hollister. Straight out flights with and without crew enable the pilot to push the boundries and explore new territory. The minimum distance required to win is 10% longer than the current record flight (currently 489 statute miles). If there is a tie on the same day, the one with the fastest time wins. The winner receives $500 in tows from Hollister Soaring Center LLC plus a rotating trophy. Distance is measured from Hollister Airport to the landing site. Out and returns and broken legs are not counted. The honor system is used.

OLC distance records are awarded to pilots who achieve the farthest flight from Hollister according to Online Contest.

Out & Return Record
Out & return records are awarded to pilots with the farthest out and return distance. These kinds of flights are the most common, having the added bonus of returning home. Typical flights are flown from Hollister to New Cuyuma, or Taft, or Tehachapi and back to Hollister.
Triangle Record
Triangle records are awarded to pilots with the farthest triangle distance. These are tricky since the weather needed to soar may not cover the entire triangle task.
